LifeThreads Delete Data
LifeThreads is developed by GK Coding. This page explains how to delete data from the LifeThreads app.
LifeThreads is local-first. The current version does not create an account. Most app data exists only on your device. If you choose cloud memory sharing, LifeThreads uploads only the encrypted memory capsule you selected.
Delete Data Inside LifeThreads
- Open LifeThreads.
- Open the memory you want to remove.
- Use the delete action to remove that memory and its local app records.
- To remove all local data, open Settings in LifeThreads and use Clear all data when available.
Delete Data From Android Settings
- Open Android Settings.
- Go to Apps.
- Select LifeThreads.
- Open Storage.
- Tap Clear storage or Clear data.
This removes local app data stored by LifeThreads on that device.
Delete Data By Uninstalling
You can uninstall LifeThreads from your device. Android normally removes the app's private local storage during uninstall, unless your device, backup settings, or operating system keeps a separate backup.
Delete Shared Memory Capsule Links
Shared memory capsule links expire automatically. When you create a shared capsule link in LifeThreads, the app may show a Delete action immediately after sharing. Use that action to revoke the link early.
If you need help deleting a server-side shared capsule and can identify the link, email info@gkcoding.dev. GK Coding can only help with data that was uploaded through cloud memory sharing and can be identified.
What Gets Deleted
- Local memories and stories.
- Photos copied into LifeThreads private app storage.
- Local notes, nails, anchors, wall positions, and connection labels.
- Local categories, feelings, dates, locations, and photo metadata stored in the app.
- Local settings and local premium entitlement cache.
What May Not Be Deleted Automatically
- Backup files you exported and saved outside LifeThreads.
- Copies you shared with other apps, cloud drives, messengers, or file managers.
- Original photos in your device photo library. LifeThreads only deletes its own copied app files, not your personal gallery originals.
- Google Play purchase records, which are handled by Google Play.
- Shared capsule links that already expired or were downloaded by another person before deletion.
- Email messages you sent to GK Coding support.
Request Help
If you need help deleting LifeThreads data, email info@gkcoding.dev with the subject LifeThreads Data Deletion.
Because the current version stores most memories locally and does not use GK Coding accounts, GK Coding cannot remotely delete data that exists only on your device. We can guide you through the local deletion steps above and help with identifiable server-side shared capsules.
